This Law course covers how laws are made and how the legal system works including the courts and the legal profession. Students will explore the concept of liability in criminal and civil areas. The criminal law modules focus on offences against the person and offences against property including defences and proposals for law reform in the future. The course includes discussion of the relationship between law and morals and the legal enforcement of moral views as well as considering the importance of fault in civil and criminal proceedings.

This course will develop knowledge and understanding of legal rules as well as developing an ability to analyse legal material, issues and situations and present a coherent and relevant argument.
